Candlelight Concert in an Old Monastery by the Sea

In the light of hundreds of candles, under the vaulted ceilings of an old monastery in Jaffa, the music of one of the greatest contemporary composers — Hans Zimmer — will come to life.

A string quintet accompanied by a pianist will create a deep, rich sound that conveys all the drama and beauty of masterpieces from films such as Rain Man, The Lion King, Gladiator, The Da Vinci Code, Sherlock Holmes, and many more. Just imagine the sun setting into the sea to the main theme from Interstellar. The sound of waves and the cries of seagulls blending with the music from Pirates of the Caribbean. This concert brings together all the splendor of Israeli evenings.

Hans Zimmer is the recipient of numerous awards, including an Oscar, a Grammy, and a Golden Globe. His music is a universe you want to dive into again and again.

This evening will be a rare opportunity to hear his famous soundtracks performed live, in the unique atmosphere of ancient stone walls and the soft glow of candlelight.

The concert features musicians from the Rishon LeZion Orchestra (The Israeli Opera Orchestra) and the Philharmonic Orchestra.

On Piano: Sergey Nikityuk A virtuoso pianist and international competition laureate. Founder of Sergiy Nikityuk & Jazz Do It, repetiteur and teacher at the Hadera Municipal Conservatory, and author of the album 88 Piano Keys.

Please note: the concert takes place outdoors on the grounds of an ancient seaside monastery. It may get chilly by the sea in the evening, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or something warm in case of cool weather.
Also, please be aware that there is no bar or café on the monastery grounds.
Entrance to the monastery is from the Jaffa promenade side, not through the Old City.
