Why You Should Hear Sergiy Nikityuk

Sergiy isn't simply a classically trained pianist—he's a musician who effortlessly shifts perspectives. A familiar melody remains recognizable in his hands while gaining a completely new life: more space, more spontaneity, more emotion.
That makes him a perfect fit for Soul Events, where audiences come to rediscover music they already love. His piano is never just accompaniment—it often becomes the heart of the entire evening. A theme may begin with intimate simplicity before unfolding into rich orchestral textures, jazz improvisation, or an original arrangement.

Rather than recreating famous pieces note for note, Sergiy transforms them into living performances that exist only in that particular moment. His style shines especially in crossover concerts where classical music meets jazz, film scores, pop, and rock.

Biography

He later graduated from the Odesa National Music Academy, where he studied under Professor Kardashov. Early in his career, Sergiy became a recipient of the Vladimir Spivakov Foundation Scholarship and performed at festivals throughout Europe.

After graduating, he spent many years working as a Musical Director for international cruise lines, an experience that greatly expanded both his repertoire and his versatility across different performance formats.
In 2020, Sergiy and his family relocated to Israel, where he founded the jazz ensemble Sergiy Nikityuk & Jazz Do It and continues performing as a pianist, composer, and arranger.
Today he collaborates with numerous Israeli ensembles and musicians, appearing as a soloist with the Haifa Big Band, musicians of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, and other leading performers, presenting original music, classical repertoire, and his own arrangements.

Repertoire & Musical Style

Sergiy's repertoire moves naturally between classical music, jazz, pop, and rock. Rather than treating genres as separate categories, he creates a musical space where classical technique meets the freedom of jazz improvisation.

His jazz arrangements span an impressive range—from classical masterpieces to artists such as Whitney Houston, Nirvana, and many others. The result is music that audiences instantly recognize while experiencing it in an entirely fresh way.
Whether performing film music, contemporary hits, or timeless classics, Sergiy brings depth, spontaneity, and originality to every piece.
